February 2008 - College Students Duped into Selling Security Systems

Recently Channel 7 in San Francisco ran a story on security company that disguised themselves as a reality show to get young people to sell alarms door-to-door. Students were sold on the notion that they were trying out for a reality program. They were moved into new locations, housed with other students and challenged to sell security systems. However, they were told that they weren’t selling – they were giving away the systems.
